Real Mother Of Pearl Inlays

This beautiful c.1958 Guild X-175 (above, restored) came in to the workshop...

...with shrunken, warped, discoloured and missing plastic fingerboard inlays

Sadly, the remaining original inlays were now very unattractive; the guitar's owner described them as looking "like old toe-nails", and since so many were missing it was decided that the full set of inlays be replaced with quality hand-cut real Mother Of Pearl shell.

Here is the full effect, the new Shell inlays installed, and the guitar's fingerboard fully restored.

Custom Jewelled Inlays

These guitars had no position-markers on their fretboard binding; I have inlaid c.1920s-50s Swarovski jewelled chaton rhinestones as markers.
