c.1960 FASAN Solidbody Prototype

No volume/tone control, no controls at all in fact! Note convenient (for the builder!) jack socket position.

I was assured this was a prototype by the previous owner. Lack of trussrod implies a construction date of 1960 or earlier

The neck is glued-it with a ravett joint, similar to the fingerboard extension on an archtop, and the pickup is attached to the end of the neck/fingerboard, again like an archtop - so this looks like the first time a hollow-body builder tried to make a solid, without thinking of all the advantages of a solid construction... and still doing it all the engrained hard way!
