1975 SHERGOLD Masquerader
Serial No. 3111, completed week ending 3rd December 1975.
Production of Masqueraders started with seral number 3101 on 8th Nov '75, making this the 10th example built!
The first 250 or so Masqueraders made (ie before Summer of '76) featured re-badged Hayman Necks with the more ornate curvy headstock outline and decorative rebates on the sides. Also usually featuring a hole where the Hayman logo was to have been fitted!
The body of this guitar also contains a 'Vibrosonic Chamber', an untuned sprung wooden box embedded behind the bridge, intended to add a springy sustaining reverberation to the guitar's resonance! This is another indication of an early Masquerader made utilising a repurposed (or 'Masquerading') Hayman body.
